Last time they would ambush the hens in corners and all attack at the same time. This time I just have to feed them and shut them up.The Hairy Ranterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07596417908421900597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6470758326749925475.post-29618567025094650002015-10-28T07:24:34.676+01:002015-10-28T07:24:34.676+01:00I have never seen a mole rat but they are like nor...I have never seen a mole rat but they are like normal moles in that they dig tunnels in veg beds and eat roots from the bottom up. Any kinds of roots so your plant dies on top and when you examine it the root is completely gone with tooth marks in the stump. As for chestnuts your only hope is to get them recently fallen and before heavy rain, but trees ripen at slightly different times so you have to check them regularly. Locals store them in damp sand. I roast or boil them, then some can be frozen for chestnut stuffing at Xmas. The Hairy Ranterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07596417908421900597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6470758326749925475.post-44299562086462645042015-10-26T17:55:12.401+01:002015-10-26T17:55:12.401+01:00I agree about the mole rats or whatever name the l...I agree about the mole rats or whatever name the little nasties go by they eat anything below ground I haven't found a cure either despite some colourful suggestions.Dawn Hawkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18246411966577903973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6470758326749925475.post-2273022401633930992015-10-25T21:17:05.184+01:002015-10-25T21:17:05.184+01:00(O)(O)gzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08034777779347889773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6470758326749925475.post-24669872142718121092015-10-25T09:35:30.618+01:002015-10-25T09:35:30.618+01:00What on earth is a mole rat? Do you process them somehow?

Sorry about your losses.
